As someone who reads the manga since before the anime was even out, I can tell you, this series is NOT aimed for children at all, despite how many may try to sell it as "just wholesome". Because of how the author is, while the main theme is a Slice of Life with a strange level of wholesomeness to it, the background setting and the characters, mainly the dragons, are VERY fucked-up once you take a closer look at them and what they usually do (And that with the anime censoring a lot, especially Kanna's scenes, compared to the actual manga)
